The slurry is dispersed as fine droplets into a stream of hot air, in which the solvent is rapidly evaporated. The surface liquid evaporates rapidly due to the large contact surface and contact with the carrier gas. Thus, the extract is kept cold due to vaporization of the liquid, and the dry particles from the suspension do not overheat due to their immediate removal from the drying area.
As a result, the product dries out as a fine powder, made up of spherical particles that have a better flow rate than conventional formulas. By atomizing this liquid, the oils are micro-encapsulated by emulsifying the aqueous extract with maltodextrin and acacia gum. As the water evaporates, maltodextrin, acacia gum and calcium fructoborate cover each suspended particle. In this way, the stability of the active substance (in the present product: artemisinin) is increased and its enteric coverage is ensured, which is especially important for the unstable substances in the stomach acid environment.

Therefore, the powder obtained by atomization is alive, enzymatically active and retains all the vitamins, minerals and other valuable compounds in the raw material, compounds that would otherwise degrade, or even destroy, in the classic drying process. The conclusion is that, through this efficient atomization extraction process, a very nutritionally valuable product is obtained, a product whose nutritional-informational matrix is intact.
